We wanted the calculator to feel seamless and easily digestible for users. By stripping the previous design’s clunky and ineffective functionality, we created a user journey that would feel less of a pain when it came to entering details and guide the user through a series of steps.
The biggest pain point was the graph screen. We color coded the Wall Street Banks and called them out underneath the graph. Putting the bank selection and average rounded balance on the previous steps - with the ability to go back and update with a “back” button - helped declutter and provide separate CTA’s for green bank education, impact, and finding a green bank.
We updated the results language and gave the information a clear hierarchy. This became a pop up with a share to text or social functionality. Leading with a mobile first approach.
We expanded the Carbon Calculator to our friends at Protect Our Winters and outfitted the design to fit their guidelines.
